At campHER we value our Midwest roots, tradition, and our friendships. We’re laid back yet always up for an adventure, big or small, and we’d choose a weekend at the lake over jet setting any day.
campHER was dreamt up one snowy winter night on Allie’s living room floor. We were watching one of our favorite HGTV design shows and they were rehabbing an airstream! We both have a serious love for home decor and all things vintage and we thought heck, we could do that.
We spent months, honestly months, looking for a vintage campHER to renovate. We searched Facebook marketplace daily and exchanged hundreds of texts with potential prospects to buy... Until we found our 1970 vintage Pathfinder, named Erma.
Erma was rescued from a farm in Illinois and we purchased her from the sweetest man, who travels the Midwest rescuing vintage campers and helping people bring them back to life. We could have hung out on the farm all day long with him chatting, he was just one of those Midwest nice kind of souls.
We have to be honest for a moment though, renovating a vintage camper is not for the faint of heart! She’s currently stored in Meg’s shed, in pieces, but hold us to it, she will come back to life
some day.
Although she sits in pieces, we’re so grateful for her as she taught us to dream big and helped us create this amazing community of women.
